Confidentiality and Trust
Confidentiality and trust between myself and my clients are crucial, and are always a top priority. The only exceptions to strict confidentiality are if you report identifiable child abuse, elder abuse or if you know of someone who is seriously intending to harm themselves or another person, or if you are suicidal and need protective care. If I had to report any of the above, we would discuss it before hand - I would never do it behind your back. Confidentiality laws bind me, not you, the client: you are free to discuss our sessions or anything we talk about to anyone, I can't discuss you with anyone unless I have your written permission.
